Humans have been trying to create artificial consciousness ever since we gained consciousness ourselves. From the Mechanical Turk to DALL-E, our innovations range from crude facsimiles to near-verisimilitude. The rise of Artificial Intelligence in the twentieth century included a wide range of categories; algorithmic processing, supervised learning, large language models. The thing is: all of these are just number-crunching. The human, intelligent, sentient aspect is practically negligible.
But neural networks are not neurons. Deep learning is not learning. Here’s the thing: no one has asked if we can make a computer genuinely intelligent. No one has dared to ask if we can create a computer with a brain. Staunton Innovation’s goal is to change this - to make science fiction into science fact.
Staunton Innovations was founded four years ago by Elton Rook, who saw a gap in the industry in the pursuit of computers who can truly think for themselves. Though SI has changed hands of several rounds of venture capitalists, we have been able to come back from every setback we've faced, thanks to our generous donors and incredibly hardworking employees.
